ORD 68-19 ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTYORDINANCE NO. 68-19
AN ORDINANCE of the Town of Winslow, Washington,
providing for the acquisition of certain
property for facilities within the town
limits; providing for the condemnation,
appropriation, taking and damaging of
land and other property necessary therefor;
providing that the entire cost thereof shall
be paid from the general funds of the Town
of Winslow or other funds applicable therefore,
and directing attorneys for the Town to prosecute
the appropriate action and proceedings in the
manner provided by law for said condemnation.
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Winslow, Washington,
recognizes the need for additional administrative and fire protection
facilities within and for the Town; and
WHEREAS, in order to acquire, construct, install, develop
and operate such facilities it is necessary for the Town to acquire
and condemn certain lands, property and property rights as hereinafter
more particularly set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town
of Winslow as follows:
Section 1. That the public health, safety, necessity and
convenience demand that a combined town hall and fire station be
acquired and/or constructed within the Town and that certain land,
properties and property rights be condemned, appropriated, taken and
damaged for the construction of said facilities as provided in this
ordinance.
Section 2. That the following described properties and
property rights within the Town of Winslow, Kitsap County, State of
Washington, are necessary for the purpose of acquiring, constructing,
operating and maintaining a combined town hall and fire station for
the town with all appurtenances thereto, and that said land and
other property rights be and they are hereby condemned, appropriated,
taken and damaged for such purpose subject to the making or paying

of just compensation to the owners thereof in the manner provided by
law
That portion of Government Lot 3, Section 26, Township
25 North, Range 2 East, W.M., Kitsap County, Washington,
described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner
of said Government Lot 3, a concrete monument; thence
along the North line of said Government Lot 3, North 89
degrees 29'30" W 758.52 feet; thence leaving said North
line South 0 degrees 30'30" W 30 feet to the South Right
of Way of Winslow Way and the True Point of Beginning;
thence along said South Right of Way 89 degrees 29'30"
W 148.11 feet to the Easterly Right of Way of Olympic
Way; thence along said Easterly Right of Way 80 degrees
24'45" W 23.31 feet; thence on a curve to the left with
a radius of 149.04 feet an arc distance of 138.58 feet;
thence continued on the Northeasterly Right of Way of
said Olympic Way S 52 degrees 51'45" E 34.83 feet; thence
leaving said Northeasterly Right of Way N 0 degrees 30'
30" E 63.45 feet; thence S 89 degrees 29'30" E 60 feet;
thence N 0 degrees 30'30" E 100 feet to the True Point
of Beginning.
Section 3. The entire cost of the improvements shall be
paid out of the general funds of the Town of Winslow or, if the
moneys in said fund are insufficient, from any other moneys of the
Town applicable thereto.
Section 4. The attorneys for the Town be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to begin and prosecute the proceedings
provided by law to condemn, take and appropriate the land, other
property and property rights necessary to carry out the provisions
of this ordinance and are further authorized in conducting said
condemnation proceedings and for the purpose of minimizing damages to
stipulate as to the use of the property hereby authorized to be
condemned and appropriated and as to the reservation of any right of
use to any owner, provided that such reservation does not interfere
with the use of said property by the Town as provided in this
ordinance.
ADOPTED BY the Council of the Town of Winslow at a special
