AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING QUALIFICATIONS AND
COMPENSATION FOR ELECTIVE OFFICERS AND CERTAIN
APPOINTIVE OFFICES AS NAMED.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington as follows:
SECTION 1
(a) The City of Winslow having been duly established
and recorded with the Secretary of State of the State of
Washington as a noncharter code city with Mayor-Council
form of Government the elective officers shall consist of
a Mayor and 5 (five) Councilmen who shall have been a
registered voter and resident of the City for a period of
at least one year preceding his election and who shall serve
without remuneration.
(b) The Winslow Planning Commission shall consist of
7 (seven) members who shall be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the Council. The term of each position shall
be 6 (six) years which shall be rotated so that termination
shall be one a year except 2 (two) positions will expire
simultaneously in each sixth year period. Each member shall
be a registered voter residing within the limits of the City
and serve without remuneration.
(c) The Winslow Board of Adjustment and Appeals shall
consist of 3 (three) members who shall be appointed by the
Mayor and confirmed by the Council. The term of each position
shall be 6 (six) years with terms expiring to conform with
the initial establishment of the Board on the basis of a
year, a four year and a six year term.
(d) Elective and appointive officers as enumerated
herein shall before entering upon the performance of their
duties take and execute an oath for the faithful performance
of the duties of the office to which elected or appointed.
(e) The elected or appointed officer enumerated herein
shall sal not be required to furnish a Public Official
~3ond except on the specific request of the City Council in
which case the premium therefor shall be paid by the City.
ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Winslow, Washington,
