ORD 70-15 EMERGENCY ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 70-15
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES ARISING THEREFORE,
WHEREAS, in the height of the unusually dry summer season
the City~s Water pumping station had a pump failure, and
WHEREAS, the City was completely dependent on this pump
to supply the heavy demand for water, and
WHEREAS, repairs consisted of a total of 8 replacements
of pump bearings at considerable cost in material and over-
time labor, and
WHEREAS, replacement unit for the damaged pump was obtained soon
as possible, justified by the fact that it was of the size
and capacity to serve .anticipated expansion of the pump
s tation, and
WHEREAS, the damaged pump is being rebuilt to heavier
specifications conforming with the replacement now in
service;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Winslow, Washington as follows:
1. That the City faced an undebatable emergency.
That all actions taken to meet the emergency
were justified and under supervision of the
Council Ts water and sewer committee.
That emergency appropriation over and above the
items covered by the 1970 Budget is herewith
authorized in the sum of $2500.00.
It is anticipated that this appropriation will
be funded from receipts not previously appro-
priated; OTHERWISE it shall be funded by in-
terest bearing loan from the Sewer Fund.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Council of the City of
Winslow, Washington and approved by its Mayor this 8th
day of September, 1970.
