ORD 70-17 EMERGENCY ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 70-17
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURES THEREFORE.
WHEREAS, operation of the City~s Sewage Treatment Plant is
a most vital function to the health and welfare of the citizens
of Winslow, Washington, and
WHEREAS, one of the two sewa~ lift pumps at this plant
burned out, and
in 1953
WHEREAS, the damaged pump was placed in service/and operated
continuously until this failure, and
WHEREAS, replacement with modern equipment of increased
capacity is considered in the best interests of dependable
operation, and
WHEREAS, this emergency could not reasonably be anticipated
at the time of establishing the 1970 budget.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City
of Winslow, Washington as follows:
1. That an undebatable emergency exists.
2. That an emergency appropriation in excess of the 1970
budget is herewith authorized in the sum of $2,500.00.
3. That said sum shall be expended in the purchase and
installation of a submersible sewage lift pump at the City's
Sewage Treatment Plant.
4. That this appropriation shall be from funds not
previously allocated.
