ORD 70-22 DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIALORDINANCE NO. 70-22
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TttE DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIAL
BY FIRE AND PROVIDING THAT A VIOLATION THEREOF IS A
MISDEMEANOR.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington as follows:
SECTION 1. A fire for the disposal of waste
material within the City of Winslow, Washington is hereby
prohibited, except as herein below indicated, unless the
person responsible therefor has obtained the approval of
the Fire ~arshal of the City of winslow, Washington and
the Air Pollution Control Officer of the Pu~et Sound Air
Pollution Control A~ency. Said exceptions must, however,
have the aDproval of the Fire Marshal of the City of
Winslow, Washington.
A. EXCEPTIONS.
1. Residential Fires, to dispose of non-
prohibited material from a one or two-family
dwellinG. Prohibited material consists of
tires, automobile hulks or seats, tarpaper,
or other material which produces dense or
obnoxious smoke.
2. Recreational Fires, for pleasure,
relicious, ceremonial, cooking or like social
purooses.
3. Natural Vegetation Fires, to dispose
of trees', stumps, branches, brush, and. bushes,
except piles of leaves or grass.
4. Official Fires, set in the course of
a forest harvest operation or to abate a forest
fire hazard. or set by or permitted by any public
officer in the performance of his official duty
(~.ncludinc a Fire Chief) for the purpose of
weed abatement, the prevention of a fire hazard
or instruction in the method of fightinq fires.
SECTION 2. A person violating this ordinance shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor.
