AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE THEREFORE
WHEREAS, the Water Department, in the year 1970, faced
heavy consumption due to an unusually dry summer, and
WHEREAS, failure in a wood pipe line required replacement
of a section together with new fire hydrant, and
WHEREAS, mechanical failures at the Head of the Bay well
requiring services on two occasions of well drilling rig and
purchase of a new submersible pump for the well, and
WHEREAS, such unexpected and unusual demands could not
reasonably have been foreseen at the time of adopting the
1970 Budget.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City
of Winslow, Washington as follows:
THAT the 1970 Budget is amended in the amount of $6,000.00
to cover emergency expenditures which are herewith confirmed as
authorized and approved by the Council.
THAT expenditure in this amount is from funds not other-
wise appropriated.
