ORD 72-04 EMERGENCY ORDINANCEORDINANCE NO. 7 2-4
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURE THEREFORE.
WHEREAS, there are certain expenditures against the
1971 Budget not previously appropriated but considered justi-
fied and in the best interest of the citizens of the City, and
WHEREAS, such expenditures could not reasonably have been
anticipated at the time of the adoption of the 1971 budget.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Council of the City
of Winslow, Washington that an emergency appropriation in the
sum of $3,000.00 from monies not otherwise appropriated is
hereby authorized to the Current Expense Fund. Said appro-
priation is for the purpose of paying claims in excess of
previous appropriation for the following charges: Legal fees,
$900; Engineering fees, $740; Postage, $500 and Telephone,
$500.
The elimination during the year of an interim project
for the sewer system made it mandatory that necessary main-
tenance work be paid from the operating funds. The
interim project provided $36,000.00 expenditures from a
revenue bond or warrant sale and postponement of such fin-
ancing required emergency expenditures from the operating
fund not previously anticipated.
Therefore an emergency appropriation in the amount of
$3,000.00 is hereby authorized to the Sewer Fund from monies
not otherwise appropriated.
The above are considered emergency expenditures under
R.C.W. 35 A.33,090 with first reading of this ordinance made
in regular session of the Council of the City of Winslow,
Washington on the 7th day of February, 1972 and final consid-
eration and adoption on 22 nd day of February, 1972.
PASSED BY the unanimous vote of the City Council and
approved by the Mayor this 22nd day of February , 1972.
