AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION TO
THE CITY OF WINSLOW OF CONTI.GUOUS UNINCORPORATED
PROPERTY: - GENERALLY ON THE WEST LIMITS OF THE
CITY, EXTENDING WEST 'TO A POINT NEAR THE TOP
OF BOOK'S HILL AND LYING SOUTH OF WYATT WAY
WEST.
WHEREAS, the council has under authority of Section Nos. 35A.14.120
et seq of the Revised Code of Washington, declared its intention
to annex to the City of Winslow property described below based
on a duly filed annexation petition; and
WHEREAS, the council did on May 1, 1972, and in compliance with
the laws of the State of Washington, hold a public hearing upon
the subject of said annexation for the purpose of affording
residents and property owners of the area an opportunity to be
he ard; and
WHEREAS, the city council of Winslow has determined that this
annexation would serve the best interests and general welfare
of the City of Winslow; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following-described property is hereby
annexed to the' City of Winslow:
Those portions of Section 27, Twp. 25, North
Range 2 East W.M., described as follows:
All of Government Lot 1 and Tide Lands fronting.
All of the northeast one quarter of the south-
west one quarter, EXCEPT the north 1020 feet
of the east 13 rods, and EXCEPT that portion
on the north boundary lying within the right-
of-way of the County Road, }Vyatt Way, N.W.
That portion of Tract 1 and Tract 42 of the
Plat of H. A. Stetson's 5 Acre Tracts, as
recorded in Volume III, page 26, Plat records
of Kitsap County, lying southerly and easterly
of the following described line: Beginning
at a point on the easterly line of Tract 1,
of said Plat of Stetson's 5 Acre Tracts, which
bears S 1°02'51'' W a distance of 120 feet from
the northeast corner of said Tract 1; thence
N 87°S8'43'' W on a line parallel with the
north line of said tract 1 for a distance of
100 feet; thence S 1°02'51'' W on a line
parallel with the east line of said Tract 1
for a distance of 260 feet; thence S'6S°28'07''
W to the center line of an existing creek;
thence southeasterly along said center line
to the east line of Tract 42 and the terminus
of said line.
Section 2. That upon such annexation, said property
shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and same basis
as the property of the City of Winslow is assessed and taxed
to pay for any then-outstanding indebtedness of the City,
contracted prior to, or existing at, the effective day of
annexation.
Section 3. That the effective date of this annexation
shall be immediately upon passage of this ~Ordinance by the City
Council.
Section 4. That the Clerk is directed to send a
certified copy' of this annexation Ordinance to the Kitsap County
Board of County Commissioners.
