An Ordinance declaring an emergency and
authorizing expenditure therefore.
WHEREAS, the increase in activity occassioned by rapid rise in
population and commercial activity, and
WHEREAS, such increased activity is reflected in the demands on
the Police Department and the Municipal Court, and
WHEREAS, court schedules have increased ~ per month to weekly
session with some sessions requiring dividing to 2 court rooms and judges,
and
I'~REREAS, such increase necessitated installation of new and more
efficient accounting method and increase in clerical wages, and increased
forms and postage, and
WHEREAS, the demands for police service justified contracting
for improveo 22 hour dispatching service,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT OHDAINED by the Council of the City of
Winslow, Washington as follows:
1. That an emergency exists
2. That an emergency appropriation is hereby authorized in the
amount of $4,000. to be distributed $2,800 to Municipal Court and $1,200.
to police dispatching.
3. That such appropriation be from increased revenues not anti-
cipated at time of adopting the 1972 budget.
4. That said charges are herewith authorized and approved.
The above are considered emergency expenditures under RCW 35A,33,
090 with first reading of this ordinance made in regular session of the
Council of the City of Winslow, Washington on the /~'-~day of/~YT~-~ , 1972
