ORD 73-10 ABOLISHING THE CAUCUS SYSTEMORDINANCE NO. 73-10 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, State of Washington, abolishing the caucus system as a method of nominating candidates for elective municipal offices, reestablishing, in lieu thereof, the filing of Declarations of Candidacy, and repealing Ordinance No. 71-10 of the City of Winslow, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Winslow, as follows: SECTION 1. That the system of city caucus and/or caucuses as a method of nominating candidates for elective municipal offices be and the same are hereby abolished. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 71-10 of the City of Winslow, and all other ordinances in conflict herewith be and they are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, names of candidates for elective municipal of- fices shall appear upon the ballot as a result of said candidates filing Declarations of Candidacy for the respec- tive offices and positions concerned in the form, place, and manner as provided by the applicable statutes contained in Title 29, Revised Code of Washington, as they now exist or may hereafter be amended. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication.
