ORD 76-07 DOG LICENSE FEES ORDINANCE N0.76 - 7 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE CHANGE IN DOG LICENSE FEES AND PENALTY, AND REPEALING SECTION 2 AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE 74 - 12. Whereas, the City Council of the City of Winslow desires to bring the license and penalty fees for dogs in line with Kitsap County and to charge a seperate fee for neutered male and spayed female dogs, Now Therefore BE IT ORDAINED by the City Counci] of the City of Winslow, Washington as follows: SECTION 2. License Fee. The following fees shall be paid for Iicenses hereunder: Each dog male or female $5.00 Neutered male or Spayed female $3.00 A statement or letter from a veterinarian certifying the dog has been neutered or spayed must be presented when applying for the dog license. PROVIDED, that licenses and tags shall be provided free of charge by the City of Winslow to guide dogs properly trained to assist blind persons when such dogs are actually being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding them in going from place to place; to dogs being currently trained for such purpose in such school or program as has been approved or accredited by a pro- fessional organization or association, either for profit or not for profit; an~ to pups and young dogs being raised to be trained on reaching maturity as guide dogs, under the 4-H program known as "Guide Dogs for the Blind." Licensing agents, in writing such Hcenses, shall ~nsert the words "Guide Dog" in the space allotted for, and in place of, a stated fee. SECTION 3. Date Due. All licenses granted hereunder shall be due and payable the first day of July of each year. If the license fee above-provided for is not paid on or before August 31 of each year, the applicant shall pay a penalty fee of $2.00 for each license in addition to the regular fee as stated above. PROVIDED, saiH applicant shall not pay the penalty fee if he has been a resident of the Lit7 of Winslow for thirty (30) days or less; i~as owned, kept or been in control of said dog for thirty (30) days or less; or sa~ dog, at the time of the application for license ~s five (5) months of age or less.
