ORD 77-15 SALARY INCREASE FOR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL ORDINANCE 77 - 15
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW, WASHINGTON,
ESTABLISHING A SALARY INCREASE FOR THE MAYOR AND THE MEMBERS OF THE
CITY COUNCIL AND PROVIDING FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES INCURRED IN
THE DISCHARGE OF THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES.
WHEREAS, the office of Mayor and City Councilmen is becoming more
demanding, time consuming and costly to the individuals involved due to
the increased complexity of City government and services; and
WHEREAS, the interests of the City of Winslow would be furthered
by providing more compensation to the Mayor and City Councilmen in orde~
to stabilize City Council membership, to strengthen the future
administrative capacity to the City, and to insure the continued best
efforts of the public officers to perform their duties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Winslow, Washington, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and members of the City Council may be
reimbursed for their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the
performance of the duties of their office, upon presentation of a Claim
tberefor to the City Clerk and its allowance and approval by the City
Ccun ci 1.
SECTION 2. The Mayor shall be entitled to a salary of THREE HUNDR~
and no/100's DOLLARS ($300.00) per calendar month.
SECTION 3. Members of the City Council shall receive the sum of
FORTY and no/100's DOLLARS ($40.00) as salary, per meeting, for not
more than two council meetings per month.
SECTION 4. The salaries provided by this Ordinance for the Mayor
shall be effective August 1, 1977, and shall be paid from unanticipate
revenue.
