ORD 79-26 IMPOUNDING OF ANIMALSORDINANCE 79 - ~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINSLOW RELATING
TO THE IMPOUNDING OF DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS
AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 107.
The Winslow City Council DO ORDAIN as follows:
A new section is hereby added to Ordinance 107 to read
as follows:
"Section 10 - Animal Bite Quarantine. Any dog or other
.animal that bites or otherwise breaks the skin of any person,
regardless of whether that person be on public or private
property, shall be impounded by the poundmaster of the City
and quarantined for at least 10 days by the poundmaster to
determine whether the animal is infected with any disease that
may have been transmitted to the victim.
Kennel fees for the quarantine period are to be paid by
the owner of the animal and the release of the animal is
conditioned upon payment of these fees."
