A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bainbridge Island, Washington, relating to the development of a
Household Herbicide/Pesticide Education Program; and
WHEREAS, the policy AQ 1.9 of the Comprehensive plan calls for the City to develop a
community -wide program to educate island residents about alternatives to using and disposing of
herbicides, pesticides, and other household chemicals to reduce impacts to wetlands, streams, and
other environmentally sensitive areas;
WHEREAS, the City wishes to protect property owners and the natural environment
from the dangers of hazardous lawn and garden pesticides, now therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND
WASHINGTON, as follows:
Bobbie Morgan and Cara Cruickshank are authorized to implement the proposed pilot
program for a Pesticide Reduction Education Program as attached.
