A RESOLiJTION of the City Council of the City of Bainbridge
Island, Washington, relating to the City's lighting ordinance
(Ordinance 2002-15) establishing a public 'information and
education program
WHEREAS,
lighting the Cit has determined that the provisions contained in Ordinance 2002-15

will encourage ting practices and lighting systems that reduce costs and conserve energy and
resources and help protect natural resources; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the provisions contained in the lighting
ordinance will encourage awareness of by improving access to the City's lighting regulations
through coordination and consolidation into one Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the new lighting ordinance (Ordinance 2002-
15)will effect most City residents now therefore;

IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND
WASHINGTON, as follows:
1) Between the time Ordinance 2002-15 is adopted ano the time it will take effect, the
City will conduct a public information and educatioi program to inform citizens and
applicants for building and development permits' about the requirements of the
Lighting Ordinance and how the requirements can bo met.
