RES 2002-23 BJUNE SPEED LIMIT REDUCTIONRESOLUTION 2002-23
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington
approving a reduction in speed limit on the entire length of Bjune
from 25 -mph speed limit to 20 -mph speed limit.
WHEREAS, The present downtown core speed li Lits are somewhat inconsistent
between streets in the same general area and with similar vehicle, and pedestrian uses; and
WHEREAS Winslow speed Way's existing limit in thO downtown core limits is posted
at 20 -mph; and
WHEREAS The downtown core area has a subst tial pedestrian presence and
pedestrians regularly expect to be able to cross the Core streots without having to wait for a
break in traffic; and
WHEREAS The Public Works and Transportation Coif mittee recommend a resolution
changing Bjune drive to 20 -mph; and
NOW THEREFORE the City Council of the City o Bainbridge Island, Washington
does resolve and direct as follows:
Seed 1. Change the existing 25 h speed limit on the entire length of Bjune

Section 2. The signage will be in accordance with WTCD standards.
