RES 2002-29 MOJI LANE LIMITED TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES ONLYRESOLUTION NO* 2002-39
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, WaEhington, limiting a
portion of Moji Lane, between Lovell Avenue and Weaver Road, to emergency
vehicles only..
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of July 12, 20 0, the City Council approved

Option C resented by the City Engineer, which provided for connection of a portion of Moi z
Lane between Lovell Avenue and Weaver Road with a one lane avel roadway and a separated-

aved pedestrian -bicycle path and a "three-point turn" on the w st end of the connection; and,
WHEREAS, the neighborhood has expressed safety concerns about vehicle traffic using
both the gravel portion and paved portion of the connection for Idoji Lane; and,
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of Septembe 18, 2002, after consideration of
prior council actions, the neighborhood issues and staff posit ons, the Council authorized and
directed the Administration to have signage limiting use of the onnection of Moil Lane, and,
WHEREAS, the proposed modification to Option C limited vehicle access does not
comply with city road standards; and,
WHEREAS, to confirm the action of the City Counci
Council's intent to limit access on the connection of Moji L
Weaver Road;
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF
ISLAND, WASHINGTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
1. That a "No Outlet" sign (W14-2) be placed:
a) On Moji Lane off Lovell Avenue
b) On Moji Lane off Strawberry Lane
2. That a "No Motor Vehicles" sign (R5-3) with an "Except

3. That staff research other residential streets and roads with limited access, evaluating the most
cost effective means, for providing a turn around at the west end of the connection of Moj i Jane
(east of Strawberry Lane); and report back to the Council the res Its of their research.
