ORD 2005-12 AMENDING OFFICIAL ZONING MAPORDINANCE 2005-12 An Ordinance of the City of Bainbridge Island, amending the official Zoning Map, changing the zoning for tax parcels 232502-3-020-2008 and 232502-3-021-2007; tax parcels 232502-3-013-2007, 232502-3-014-2006 and 232502-3-015-2005; and tax parcel 222502-4-001-2000. WHEREAS, the City adopted a Comprehensive Plan and a Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map on September 1, 1994, subsequently amended, and WHEREAS, in accordance with RCW36.70A, the Growth Management Act, the City initiated a review and update of its Comprehensive Plan in 2000; and WHEREAS, as part of the review and update process, the City reviewed the land use designations for tax parcels 232502-3-020-2008 and 232502-3-021-2007; tax parcels 232502-3-013-2007, 232502-3-014-2006 and 232502-3-015-2005; and tax parcel 222502-4-001-2000. WHEREAS, on December 8, 2004, the City Council passed Ordinance 2004- 09, adopting amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and amending the Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan to change the land use designation for tax parcels 232502-3-020-2008 and 232502-3-021-2007 from Urban Multifamily (UMF) to Madison Overlay District (MAD); to change the land use designation for tax parcels 232502-3-013-2007, 232502-3-014-2006 and 232502-3-015-2005 from Semi-Urban Residential (SUR) to Urban Multifamily (UMF); and to change the land use designation for tax parcel 222502-4-001-2000 from Light Manufacturing/Contract Zone 2 (LM/CZ-2) to Light Manufacturing (LM); and WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act requires that zoning be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, and Third Reading Ordinance 2005-12 May 25, 2005 WHEREAS, in accordance with the process outlined in Chapter 2.18 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code, on March 24, 2005 the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the rezones of the subject properties and recommended approval, now therefore: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Bainbridge Island Official Zoning Map is amended, changing the zoning designations for tax parcels 232502-3-020-2008 and 232502-3-021- 2007 from Residential, 8 Unit per Acre (R-8) to Mixed Use Town Center/Madison Avenue Overlay District, as shown in the attached map, Exhibit A. Section 2. The City of Bainbridge Island Official Zoning Map is amended, changing the zoning designations for tax parcels 232502-3-013-2007, 232502-3-014- 2006 and 232502-3-015-2005 from Residential, 2.9 Units per Acre (R-2.9) to Residential, 8 Units per Acre (R-8), as shown in the attached map, Exhibit A. Section 3. The City of Bainbridge Island Official Zoning Map is amended, changing the zoning designation for Tax Parcel 222502-4-001-2000 from Light Manufacturing/Contract Zone (LM/CZ) to Light Manufacturing (LM) as shown in the attached map, Exhibit A. Section 4. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to file this ordinance with the Kitsap County Auditor, and to file one copy with the recording number with the Kitsap County Assessor and the property owner. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect five days after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. PASSED by the City Council this 25th day of May, 2005.
