RES 2004-08 WATERFRONT PARK PLAN FAR RATIO FUNDSRESOLUTION NO. 2004-08 A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, committing financial support for the Waterfront Park Plan from bonus floor area ratio funds. WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance 98-11 on May 21, 1998, adopting the Winslow Master Plan as a sub -area plan of the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Winslow Master Plan includes policies that allow for the purchase of bonus floor area ratio in the Mixed Use Town Center and High School Road Districts, provided that a portion of the resultant funds are used to develop public amenities that enhance the vitality and livability of Winslow; and WHEREAS, as of this date approximately $128,000 from the purchase of bonus floor area ratio is currently available in the public amenities sub -fund; and WHEREAS, Waterfront Park in Winslow is an invaluable asset to the Island community which the. City wishes to preserve and enhance; and WHEREAS, the City. Council adopted the Waterfront Park Plan in November 1997, and that Plan is currently being updated; and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to support the implementation of the final, updated Waterfront Park Plan, and has determined that the use of bonus floor area ratio funds is appropriate for this purpose; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE THAT: Section 1. The City Council supports earmarking bonus floor area ratio funds for future use for the Waterfront Park Plan, with the amount to be determined by the Council. City Council Meeting March 24, 2004 Section 2. These funds may be used as a match to grants that the City applies for in support of the Waterfront Park Plan.
