RES 2001-59 INCREASING CHARGES FOR SSWMRESOLUTION NO* 2001-59
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON INCREASING THE CHARGES FOR THE
CITY'S STORM AND SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT
UTILITY AS OF JANUARY 1, 2002.
WHEREAS in response to the fiscal pressures imposed on the City by Initiative 695,- the
City Councilpp roved ordinance 99-50 in which the monthly service charge for the City's Storm
and Surface Water Management Utility was sot at $7.00 less a reduction to be detennined by the
City Council by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously set the reduction for the Storm and Surface
Water Management Utility in Resolution 99-27; and
WHEREAS, at a series of public City Council Committee meetings and public City
Council meetings conducted from August, 2002 through this meeting and including two public
hearings conducted on November 7, 2001 and November 28, 2001, the City Council has

determined that the charges presently Imposed for the City's Storm and Surface Water
Management Utility have been and are grossly insufficient to cover the costs f that utility;
now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL of THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1, The reduction in the storm and surface water management untility charges
referred to in Section 2 of ordinance 99-50 shall be $2.00 on and after January 1, 2002.
