RES 2013-22 AMDTS TO KC COUNTYWIDE PLANNING POLICESRESOLUTION NO. 2013-22
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, ratifying the
2013 amendments to the Kitsap County Countywide Planning Policies, in the
form approved by the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council on September 24,
2013 and contingent upon approval by the Kitsap County Board of County
Commissioners without changes; and providing an effective date.
WHEREAS, on September 24, 2013, the Executive Board of the Kitsap Regional
Coordinating Council (the "KRCC ") approved proposed 2013 updates to the Kitsap County
Countywide Planning Policies (the "CPPs "), and
WHEREAS, the KRCC subsequently transmitted the proposed 2013 CPP updates to
Kitsap County, the cities of Port Orchard, Bremerton, Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo, and the
Suquamish Tribe and Port Gamble S'Kallam Tribe, and
WHEREAS, although the CPPs provide that the cities and the tribes have ninety days
after the County's adoption by ordinance in order to ratify the CPPs, the KRCC has
recommended that the cities and the tribes ratify the 2013 CPP update contingent upon the Board
of County Commissioners' subsequent adoption as recommended, and
WHEREAS, the Bainbridge Island City Council has met and considered the amendments
and has determined to ratify them contingent upon the County's adoption without changes, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratification. The 2013 updates to the CPPs, in the form approved by the
KRCC on September 24, 2013, are hereby ratified and approved. This ratification and approval
is contingent upon the Kitsap County Board of County Commissioners adopting the 2013 CPP
updates by ordinance without any changes. If changes are made by the Kitsap County Board of
County Commissioners, the Bainbridge Island City Council reserves the right to review and
approve the amended 2013 CPP updates according to the process described in Appendix A of the
CPPs.
Section 2. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect upon passage by the City
Council.
