RES 2015-12 FIXING DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON VACATING PORTION OF PT. MONROE DRIVERESOLUTION NO. 2015 -12 A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, fixing a date for a public hearing to consider vacating a portion of Pt. Monroe Drive. WHEREAS, the City has received a petition to vacate and re- dedicate a portion of Pt. Monroe Drive from Sigurdur and Heidi Gudmundsson, owners of Property Tax Lot No. 4155- 000- 039 -0000 adjacent to the subject portion of Pt. Monroe Drive, pursuant to Chapter 12.34 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code ( "BIMC "); and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 12.34.060 BIMC, the Director of Public Works has found that the petition has been signed by more than two - thirds of the owners of the parcels abutting the portion of the street to be vacated and brings the petition to City Council to set a date for a public hearing on the proposed vacation; now therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES HEARBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The petition meets the sufficiency requirements of RCW 35A.01.040. Section 2. A public hearing shall be held on the requested vacation and re- dedication of a portion of Pt. Monroe Drive, described on the attached drawing (Exhibit A), on August 11, 2015 as part of the regular City Council meeting at the Bainbridge Island City Hall, Council Chambers, located at 280 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island, Washington, Section 3. The Director of Public Works or his designee is authorized and directed to post and mail notices as required by RCW 35.79.020 and Section 12.34.080 BIMC, and to notify the public of the public hearing at least twenty days prior to the hearing.
