ORD 2000-02 HUMAN SERVICES ELEMENT OF COMPREHENSIVE PLANORDINANCE NO. 2000-02
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
Adding a new Human Services Element to the City's Comprehensive
Plan.
WHEREAS, the City adopted a Comprehensive Plan on September 1, 1994,
which has subsequently been amended; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Growth Management Act allows for the
inclusion of additional elements to local comprehensive plans; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.50 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code, establishing
the Health, Housing and Human Services Council, directs the council to prepare a plan
for health, housing and human services with the city which is consistent with and may be
approved for inclusion in the city's comprehensive plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 4,
1999, and has recommended to the city council to adopt the Human Services Element
into the city' s comprehensive plan; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN, as follows:
Section 1. A new Human Services Element is added to the City's Comprehensive
Plan to read as Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and
after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
