ORD 2000-18 PROHIBITING PARKING WITHIN FIRE LANESORDINANCE NO. 2000 - 18 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, prohibiting parking within fire lanes; and adding a new Section 10.08.185 to the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code. WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in the public's best interest to prohibit vehicular parking within fire lanes for purposes of protecting the public's health, safety and welfare; now, therefore THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A new Section 10.08.185 is added to the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code as follows: 10.08.t85 Parking within fire lane prohibited. A. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within any fire lane. B. For purposes of this section, "fire lane" means an area on public or private property reserved for providing the fire department access to structures, fire fighting fixtures or equipment, or for emergency. vehicles.
