RES 2000-40 POSTING NOTICES ON PROPERTIES SUBJECT TO LAND USE APPLICATIONSRESOLUTION NO. 2000-40 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, relating to public notice requirements and declaring the intent of the City Council to post notice of application and public hearing signs on the property subject to the land use application and consistent with the provisions of BIMC 2.16.085. WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2000-36, passed on November 29, 2000, the City Council revised the method of notice requirements in BIMC 2.15.085; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish procedures for posting signs required by the amendments to BIMC 2.16.084; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City council of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington that it intends to implement the amendments to BIMC 2.16.085 and post signs in accordance with the following procedures: INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTING NOTICE SIGNS • Sign(s) must be posted within 5 days of Notice of Application. • Sign(s) must be posted where they will be continually, clearly visible to passersby, particularly to next-door neighbors. This includes posting one overlooking the water on any waterfront property. (If you have any questions, talk to the project planner who is reviewing your application.) • Signs must be posted back-to-back and perpendicular to the access. (If you have any questions, talk to the project planner who is reviewing your application.) • Sign(s) must be on the subject property, not in rights-of-way (whether street, private road, driveway, trail or beach). • The attached "Certificate of Posting" must be filled out and returned to the Dept. of Planning and Community Development within 48 hours of when sign(s) is/are posted. • If a public hearing is required, you may post the Notice of Public Hearing sign(s) over top of the Proposed Land Use Action sign(s). • Once posted, sign(s) may not be removed until a final decision has been made on your application. Immediately notify the project planner if there is any damage or weathering to a sign or if a sign needs to be replaced for any reason. PASSED by the City Council this 29th day of November 2000.
