ORD NO. 2016-09 2015 BUDGET CARRYOVERS INTO 2016ORDINANCE NO. 2016-09
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington
amending the 2016 Budget of the City to include carryover items
for work funded in 2015 but to be performed in 2016.
WHEREAS, on November 10, 2014, the City Council adopted the budget for 2015 and
2016; and
WHEREAS, funding for certain items was approved in the 2015 budget and this work is
continuing in 2016, and these funds now should be carried over into the 2016 budget for
work to be completed in 2016; and
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2015-33 and the 2016 budget are each amended as shown on
the attached Exhibit A.
Section 2. The City's Finance Director is authorized and directed by this ordinance to make
the necessary changes to the 2016 Budget. The Finance Director is further directed to make
sufficient interfund equity transfers from the appropriate funds to cover the added amounts
authorized by this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days from and after its
passage, approval and publication as required by law.

Item Description
University of This item provides ongoing funding and 2016 budget
Washington Map and authority for creation of a land use/land cover map and
Metrics project ecological metrics to document baseline conditions for the
Shoreline Master Program Monitoring Plan. This work was
started in 2015 and continues into 2016.

City Hall Heating and This item provides ongoing funding and 2016 appropriation General Fund /
Cooling System authority for work on the City Hall heating, cooling and Public Works
Upgrade ventilation systems that was delayed into 2016 from the
originally planned 2015 timing.
Bainbridge This item provides ongoing funding and additional General Fund /
Community appropriation authority for the Bainbridge Community Executive
Foundation Foundation to monitor and distribute funding provided by
the City to various community service organizations. This
work began in 2015, and will continue through 2017. This
item does not increase original budgeted spending for the
project.
