RES NO. 2018-05 ACCEPTING FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION GRANTSRESOLUTION NO. 2018-05
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington,
accepting Federal Highway Administration Grants for the Fletcher
Bay Road Core 40 Non -Motorized Transportation Program Project,
the Sportsman Club/New Brooklyn Road Intersection
Improvements, the Olympic Drive Non -Motorized Improvement
Project, and a Washington State Transportation Improvements
Board Grant for the Olympic Drive Non -Motorized Improvement
Project
WHEREAS, on November 14, 2017, the City of Bainbridge Island adopted Ordinance
No. 2017-28 updating the 2017-2022 six-year Capital Facilities Plan including grant amounts
that the City applied for to support various projects; and
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that a Federal Highway Administration
("FHWA") Grant has been approved for the Fletcher Bay Road Core 40 Non -Motorized
Transportation Program Project in the amount of $389,000; and
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that a FHWA Grant has been approved for the
Sportsman Club/New Brooklyn Road Intersection Improvements in the amount of $156,000; and
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that a FHWA Grant has been approved for the
Olympic Drive Non -Motorized Improvement Project in the amount of $878,320; and
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that a Washington State Transportation
Improvements Board ("TIB") Grant has been approved for the Olympic Drive Non -Motorized
Improvement Project in the amount of $400,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council accepts the FHWA and TIB Grants and authorizes other sources of
available City funds to be used as required matching funds to complete the projects, and
authorizes the City Manager to execute all required agreements and documents with the grant -
issuing agencies to effectuate these grants.
