ORD NO. 2018-06 AMENDING CLIMATE CHANGE ADVISORY COMMITTEEORDINANCE NO. 2018-06 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, relating to the number of members serving on the City's Climate Change Advisory Committee and amending Section 2.37.010 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code (BIMC). WHEREAS, on May 9, 2017, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2017-13, establishing a new Chapter 2.37 BIMC and a Climate Change Advisory Committee for the City consisting of seven members; and WHEREAS, on June 20, 2017, the Mayor nominated and the City Council confirmed the appointment of nine initial members to the Climate Change Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend Chapter 2.37 BIMC to formally expand the number of members that can serve on the Climate Change Advisory Committee from seven to nine members. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.37.010.A of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: A. There is created a climate change advisory committee for the city, hereinafter referred to as the committee. The committee shall consist of seve nine members who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by a vote of the city council. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from its passage, approval, and publication as required by law. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 13th day of March, 2018.
