ORD 2002-16 WATER & SEWER SYSTEM PARTICIPATION FEES ORDINANCE No. 2002-16
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON RELATING TO WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM
PARTICIPATION FEES, AMENDING ORDINANCE 97-26, AND
ADDING A NEW SECTION 13.16.040.D TO THE BAINBRIDGE
ISLAND MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, the City established a structure of water and sewer system
participation fees by Ordinance 82-20; and
WHEREAS, the City expanded and clarified that structure for water system
additions in Section 3 of Ordinance 97-26; and
WHEREAS, BIMC 13.16:040.A.6 specifies the additional sewer charges
required from non-residential customers who add to the number of fixtures; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to clarify the amount of water and sewer
system participation fees due when customers wish to change their class or service or add
fixtures; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND', WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS ·
SECTION 1. A new Section 13.16.040.D shall be added to the Bainbridge Island
Municipal Code to read as follows:
13.16.040.D
Customers presently served by City water or sewer who wish to change from one
class of service to another or who wish to increase the size of water meter or to
add a meter shall pay the fees specified by this ordinance, against which fees they
shall receive a credit in the amount of participation fees applicable to the class of
service, fixture count, and size of meter for which the customer has already paid
on the property in question.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on and five days
from its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
