RES 2001-27 REVIEW OF BUDGET BY THE FINANCE & PERSONNEL COMMITTEERESOLUTION No. 2001-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON DECLARING THE CITY'S POLICY TO REQUIRE REVIEW OF PROPOSED BUDGET AMENDMENTS BY THE FINANCE & PERSONNEL COMMITTEE OF THE CITY COUNCIL PRIOR TO APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City Council regularly approves multiple amendments to its annual appropriated budget in any given year; and WHEREAS, proposed budget amendments often make conflicting claims on the city's financial resources which need to be analyzed before an informed decision can be made regarding the approval of a proposed amendment; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: It is the intent of the City of Bainbridge Island to require that proposed spending requests which require an amendment to the City's annual appropriated budget be reviewed by the Finance and Personnel Committee of the City Council prior to presentation to the City Council. The task of the Finance and Personnel Committee in this review is to determine that the proposed accounting for the expenditure is both legal and proper and that sufficient funds are available within the designated fund.
