RES 2001-21 HOUSING TRUST FUND MATCHING DONATIONS WITH PUBLIC CONTRIBUTIONSRESOLUTION NO. 2001-21
A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island,
Washington, declaring the City's Intent to Match Private
Donations to the Housing Trust Fund with Public Contributions.
WHEREAS, the City established a Housing Trust Fund by Ordinance 99-45 for
the purpose of supporting the development and preservation of affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Board of the Housing Trust Fund recommends that
Resolution 99-34, which provides for a City match to private donations, be amended to
provide a match for in-kind donations as well as cash donations; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
It is the intent of the City of Bainbridge Island to provide a match from general
tax revenues to all private donations to the City's Housing Trust Fund. Funding for this
purpose shall be included in the 2001 Budget of the City in the amount of $75,000.00
and amounts for each subsequent year shall be included in the Budget for that year in
amounts to be determined by the City Council as part of the budget process. In the event
that private contributions in any calendar year exceed the budgeted amount, the City
Council shall then determine whether to amend the budget so as to continue to be able to
provide a dollar for dollar match.
