RES 2002-40 2003 BUDGET CALENDAR REVISIONRESOLUTION No. 2002-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND,
WASHINGTON, REVISING THE CALENDAR FOR THE
PREPARATION OF THE 2003 BUDGET.
VVMREAS, Ordinance 2002-11 adopted by the Bainbridge Island City Council on April
24, 2002 calls for the adoption of an "Annual Budget and Planing Calendar" by
February 1st of each year, beginning with 2003; and
NMEREAS, Resolution 2002-06 adopted a schedule for the preparation and adoption of
the budget for the year 2003; and
NMEREAS events occurred since Resolution 2002-06 was adopted, among them the
desire to hold a memorial for the tragic events of last September 11, which events
required adjustments to the schedule previously adopted and consequently that schedule
was modified by Resolution 2002-24; and
VMEREAS, lengthier debate on the budget than expected has' caused the scheduling of
additional City Council meetings on the 2003 Budget and make it unlikely that the 2003
Budget can be approved on November, the date of the Public Dearing on the 2003
Budget; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WASHINGTON,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Calendar:

EFFECTIVE DATE. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
