RES 2003-16 EXPRESSING GRATITUDE FOR DAVIS LEWIS BIPDRESOLUTION NO. 2003-16 A RESOLUTION of the City of Bainbridge Island, Washington, expressing gratitude and acknowledging the high level of service Dave Lewis, Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Park & Recreation District, provided to the community. WHEREAS, Dave Lewis has served the residents of Bainbridge Island as the Executive Director of the Bainbridge Island Park & Recreation District since 1998; and WHEREAS, as a result of the expertise demonstrated by Dave Lewis the Don Nakata Memorial Pool opened in December, 2001; and WHEREAS, Dave Lewis worked with the Bainbridge Island Land Trust to acquire the 40 -acre Blakely Harbor Park; and WHEREAS, Dave Lewis spearheaded the opening of two new ball field complexes at Sands Road and at Phelps Road; and WHEREAS, a skate park and roller hockey rink were both opened during Dave Lewis' tenure; and WHEREAS, Dave Lewis worked with the community to construct the "Kids Up" playground located at Battle Point Park; and WHEREAS, Dave Lewis expanded Park District classes and cultural offerings; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAINBRIDGE ISLAND resolves that Dave Lewis provided a high level of service to the community and acknowledges with gratitude the cooperative relationship formed between the City of Bainbridge Island and the Bainbridge Island Park & Recreation District during his tenure.
